What is a saline EEG cap?
A Saline Cap, a Salt-Cap or a Salt Water Cap is a type of electroencephalogram (EEG) device that requires salt water (saline) to improve scalp-electrode conductivity. It uses a sponge soaked with salt water which is place between the scalp and the electrode surface.
Thomas Feiner, QEEG-D and founder of the Institute for EEG-Neurofeedback, invented the first salt water cap based on an EEG-Net. He called it the Free-Cap. It has become the quality standard of a reliable saline EEG cap in the world. There is only one place where this Saline EEG-Cap can be purchased - it is Neurofeedback-Partner based in Germany. Only from us, you can be sure to get the same quality and reliability of Thomas Feiner's protected invention.
No paste, no gel
The Free-Cap is a new salt water EEG cap that uses saline as conductive. The electrodes are placed into a holder with a unique sponge material, which slowly releases saline to the scalp. The electrodes have an optimal fit and can easily be repositioned if needed. A rubber string or electrode holder is broken? No problem: With the new salt water cap, which is commonly called the Free-Cap, you can quickly replace individual parts.
Compatibility
Most of our clients use their saline cap for Neurofeedback and QEEG (Quantitative EEG). The Free-Cap can also be used for the ISF (Mark Smith) and ILF (Othmer, Neuro-Amp) Neurofeedback.
The Free-Cap is a 19 Channel salt water cap with mastoid electrodes as references, which can be easily placed on the mastoids. By default, this saline caps come with mastoid electrodes. However, it is also possible to use our ear clips for reference. For this purpose, you can order extra ear clips in our store.
When buying Thomas Feiner's invention the Free-Cap set, you also get 25-pin plugs compatible with Discovery Brainmaster or Q20. It is also compatible with the CAMP Amplifier from Cognionics. With the appropriate adapters, you can use the Free-Cap saline cap together with basically every manufacturer out there.
Why use the Free-Cap?
The Salt-Cap, invented by Thomas Feiner is an EEG cap. It has become known for the following characteristics:
- Ease of use, excellent electrode quality (for SCP, ERPs, ISF and ILF training). Electrodes are made in the EU!
- No gel or paste required, quick and easy assembly with exceptional signal quality, ability to move the electrodes if necessary, for example in the case of a bone defect or a wound.
- No sticky paste or gel on the heads of your clients
- Fast, easy, and excellent impedances
- Almost all Free-Cap components can be replaced individually; These components include electrode holders, cords, chinstrap, and sponges.
- 1-19 electrodes montages possible
- Compatible with devices of many manufacturers
- Easy cleaning
- High level of longevity and sustainability
