electrode made of sintered Ag/AgCl
Sintered electrodes are made using a special process in which a metal and a mineral are bonded together under high heat and pressure. This mix makes these electrodes high-performance electrodes resulting in lower low-frequency noise, lower offset, less polarization, and DC drift. There is currently no better material for precise yet complicated EEG measurements. For neurofeedback, this also means that good impedances are usually achieved quickly, which reduces the preparation time enormously.
Silver/silver chloride is considered to be the most stable and low-noise EEG electrode. It is reversible, which means that an electric current can flow without any change in the chemical environment in the immediate vicinity of the electrode. These sensors are also less susceptible to artifacts than metal electrodes.
Only with sintered Ag/AgCl EEG electrodes can you perform ISF and ILF training. For example, if you practice the Othmer method, you must definitely use sintered silver chloride electrodes.
